Investigator, Sergeant Logan Farrell, has never been convinced the human race deserves saving. But it looks like he’s got the job anyway.
It’s been five hundred years since we fled the remnants of a dying Earth in search of a new home. Twenty-four ships, each carrying ten thousand Chosen Ones. All sleeping peacefully…until people start dying in cryo.
Malfunction or murder? Hopefully, the former—a serial killer in the fleet would be drastic for morale. But Logan is determined to find the truth. Unfortunately, he’s got a new partner—and he works best alone.
Katia Mendoza, hot-shot homicide detective, has been woken from cryo to assist with the investigation. But is she really interested in solving the case, or does she have her own agenda?
Before he can answer that question, though, they become targets themselves.
Nothing like a few near misses with death to bring a couple together, and Logan finds himself falling for the alluring detective. But he doesn’t know that Katia is hiding a secret.
It’s not only humans who fled the dying Earth.

About Nina:
Growing up in the cold, wet, north of England, Nina Croft spent a lot of time dreaming of faraway sunnier places and ponies. When she discovered both, along with a whole load of other things, could be found between the covers of a book, her life changed forever.
Later, she headed south, picked up the perfect husband along the way, and together they volunteered to work in Africa. There they discovered a love of exotic places and a dislike of 9-5 work. Afterward they spent a number of years travelling (whenever possible) intermingled with working (whenever necessary.) Eventually they stumbled upon a remote area in the mountains of southern Spain and the small almond farm they now call home.
Nina spends her days reading, writing and riding her mare, Gencianna, under the blue Spanish skies—sunshine and ponies. She reckons this is proof that dreams really can come true if you want them enough.
Nina’s writing mixes romance with elements of the paranormal and science fiction

INTERVIEW
- What is on your nightstand?
A lot of dust. Only kidding, I dust at least once a year. Right now, a notebook and pen. I used to wake up so many times—usually in the aftermath of a really good dream—and think; that’s a fabulous idea for a story. Then I’d go back to sleep and forget it and it would be lost forever. So now I make sure I can write everything down.
- What author would you totally fan?
For romance, Susan Elizabeth Phillips. I consistently love her characters and stories.
- What makes you cringe?
Baked beans!
- Do you obsessively plot out each point or just go with the flow?
I’m a total plotter. Honestly, I’ve tried plotting and pantsing and everything in between, but I find the plotting works best for me. I tend to go down to the scene level. The plotting process gives me the time and opportunity to get to know my characters (at some point they’ll start talking in my head—that’s when I know I’m ready to write.) Plus, if I know what happens in a scene, then I can concentrate on how the characters react to what’s happening rather than what they are going to do next. I find it flows much better.
- Is there a word you love to use?
Gargantuan. I love the sound of that word. Obviously I never actually use it. It goes in my first drafts because I love it, then invariably gets removed in my editing process. I also seem to pick up a ‘favorite’ word with each book. My current one is ‘but’. I have to be ruthless and eradicate wherever I see it!
Also, if you have any pictures of your pet you would like to share, please attach them. My readers love animals!
Oh my goodness, yes. I have lots of pictures, but then I have quite a few pets; two horses, two goats, three dogs, seven cats, six chickens and a three-legged Vietnamese pot-bellied house pig.

Hi Peggy! Give sci-fi a try. It’s fun!
A question for the author: AS a child, what were your favorite authors, genres, and book series to read?
Hi Nancy, Lol – a long time ago but some just stay in the memory (okay some I still read again). Genres were mainly fantasy. Narnia, Lord of the Rings, The Dark is Rising… Later Sci Fi – I love Dune and Robert Heinlein ad Arthur C Clarke. Probably around 13, I discovered romance and loved Rosemary Rogers and Shirley Busbee and by mother’s Mills and Boons. Wow – this is making me want to go and read!
Sounds interesting. Love your pets! Thanks for the contest.

I have not read any space adventure books. I will say the premise is interesting and the story sounds good. Your zoo of pets sounds much like our house when our children were growing up. My daughter has taken over now having llamas, horses, pigs, sheep, chickens, ducks, dogs, cats, and in the past, cows, turkeys, rabbits, ferrets, and goats.
My daughrer would enjoy this book
