INTERVIEW
  1. What is on your nightstand?

Pam: A notebook, current book I’m reading, a lamp, and the TV remote.

Debra: At the moment the adventures of Winnie the Pooh. I have been visiting my grandchildren this week and my oldest granddaughter, who is three, loves Pooh bear. I confess, I love these stories too.

Teri: A lamp and books.

Maggie: Lotion, water, diffuser with lavender oil, latest paperback

Nia: Books

  1. What author would you totally fan?

Pam: J K Rowling

Debra: Alice Hoffman. I love the fairy tale aspects of her writing.

Teri: JD Robb/Nora Roberts

Maggie: Lexi Blake!!

Nia: Sierra Simone

  1. What makes you cringe?

Pam: Haters

Debra: Snakes in movies. I cannot watch them.

Teri: Cliffhangers.

Maggie: Crude words used for a beautiful intimate moment.

Nia: Seeing videos where people get hurt.

  1. Do you obsessively plot out each point or just go with the flow?

Pam: I’m a combination of both. I have an idea and go for it. I’m not a total pantster because most of the time I do months, even years of research for my stories.

Debra: I get a story idea, then I start writing, and the characters reveal themselves as I write. The plot may be a plot idea at first or just a scene. It depends on the book. If I plot an entire book from start to finish, I don’t start writing the book. It is as if all the juice from the fruit dried right out.

Teri: No.

Maggie: I have an outline, but what the characters tell me is usually the way I go.

Nia: Total pantster here.

  1. Is there a word you love to use?

Pam: That, I have to literally go through my manuscripts and get rid of most of the “thats” and only use it where it’s necessary.

Debra: Just. It’s a word I have to edit out all the time. But I speak that way.

Teri: End. As in The End.

Maggie: Darlin’. My characters just have an intimate drawl when seducing or sassing. Not exactly southern, but a pop of sexy.

Nia: I have to watch “massive” when I’m describing male genitalia. My heroes are very well endowed.
