About the Author
Wendy Wax, a former broadcaster, is the author of twelve novels, including A Week at the Lake, While We Were Watching Downton Abbey, The House on Mermaid Point, Ocean Beach, and Ten Beach Road.
My Thoughts:
The girls are spending one last holiday at Bella Flora since Kyra has rented it out for a year to an unknown tenant in order to meet her financial obligations. She doesn’t want Dustin to appear in his father’s film even though it would give her a lot of breathing room so the story revolves around her internal conflicts of trying to do what is best for her son.
Kyra has even more to deal with when her Daniel brings a Great Dane puppy to live with them. Since they are moving into a tiny one bedroom, having a dog that size is just a horrible thought. This one thing makes me hate Daniel even more since what kind of person would give a dog to someone without understanding the financial and emotional output a dog of that size would require. Kyra and Dustin accept the challenge with grace and of course, Kyra bares this burden because of her son.
These quick-read novellas only make me want a full-length book that much more. That said, I really enjoyed catching up with my favorite characters from Ten Beach Road. This is just such a fun way to spend a few hours and take a beachy break. The next book is almost here:
