I found a copy of Salman Rushdie’s The Satanic Verses in a 2nd hand bookshop in London when it was first banned. I was really nervous on the flight back to Ireland in case I got stopped!
1984. memorable,
The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison.
That book hit so close to home with me; I cried so hard and ached so deeply I haven’t read it again.
Hard to believe it’s banned in some places, Harry Potter.
To Kill a Mockingbird; thanks for the giveaway. 🙂
I can’t believe books are still being banned in this day and age… I’d say it was Harry Potter, off the top of my head (I’ve seen 1984 mentioned, but I read that one first)
It’s To Kill a Mockingbird for me. My favorite book of all time.
Would have to be Harry Potter
To Kill a Mockingbird was the last one I read & it was many years ago.
Mark Twain’s “Letters From the Earth”. It was banned for years after it was written, and is hard to find now. Brilliant political/social satire.
The Catcher And The Rye
Eleanor and Park was fairly recent.
can’t think of any
Harry Potter is the last I read. Thanks for the chance x
I would say To Kill A Mockingbird while still in school!!!
The only one I’m positive is on the list is Harry Potter, but I’m sure more are also.
I’ve read The Bluest Eye, by Toni Morrison.
Bare-Faced Messiah, a biography of L. Ron Hubbard.
The last banned book I remember reading is Beloved by Toni Morrison!
The last banned book I read was The Perks of Being a Wallflower.
Thanks for the chance to win 🙂
To Kill a Mockingbird was the first one for me too.
To Kill A Mockingbird
The Perks of Being a Wallflower
to kill a mockingbird
gone with the wind
Fun Home by Alison Bechdel
Harry Potter! 😀
Farenheit 451. I know I’ve read others, but that one comes to mind.
Harry Potter
Hi Mary! I’m making my rounds with all the other giveaway blogs. Happy Friday!
I think probably Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close was probably the most recent.
One of the most memorable was To Kill a Mockingbird.
I don’t remember which books are banned and which aren’t, as I don’t think of books being banned, if that makes sense. To me books are something to read, not a propaganda item that has to be hidden because it was “banned.” Who said it was banned? And who banned it, from where? lol That’s just silly to me 🙂 If I want to read it, I’m gonna buy it and read it!
I read The Handmaid’s Tale, which is a great book.
I don’t remember ever reading a banned book.
To kill a mockingbird ty for the chance
I really don’t have a book that I read that was banned!
To Kill a Mockingbird was the first banned book I read.
To Kill A Mockingbird was probably the first banned book I read.
To Kill a Mockingbird was defiantly mine
probably a harry potter
I recently read Eleanor & Park and really enjoyed it.
I would have to say To Kill a Mockingbird
Lord of the Flies, To Kill a Mockingbird, and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn are just a few.
I would have to say Harry Potter
I don’t pay attention for this stuff, so Harry Potter 😀
I’ve never read a banned book.
The Harry Potter collection is the last banned book that I remember reading.
It may have been Animal Farm
I think 1984
The most recent banned book I read would probably be Harry Potter.
