From W. Bruce Cameron, the author of the New York Times and USA Today bestselling novel A Dog’s Purpose, now a major motion picture!
Meet Molly–a very special dog with a very important purpose. An irresistible book for young middle grade readers adapted from A Dog’s Journey, the sequel to the bestselling A Dog’s Purpose–now a major motion picture!
Molly knows that her purpose is to take care of her girl, C.J., but it won’t be easy. Neglected by her mother, Gloria, who won’t allow her to have a dog, C.J. is going through some tough times. Molly’s job is to stay hidden in C.J.’s room, cuddle up to her at night, and protect her from bad people. And no matter what Gloria does to separate them, nothing will keep Molly away from the girl that she loves.
Adorable black-and-white illustrations by Richard Cowdrey bring Molly and her world to life. Also includes a discussion and activity guide that will help promote family and classroom discussions about Molly’s Story and the insights it provides about humankind’s best friends.
About the Author
Of course, this book made me tear up a bit and like all Cameron stories, this one doesn’t disappoint. If you are a fan of dog books, you will love this one. It is in the same vein as the other books in the Dog’s Purpose series but it is directed at a much younger audience. The pace is perfect and can be read as an advanced chapter book that will keep kids interested. Expect a bit of sadness at times though.
I have one dog. He is almost 16. My son and DIL have 5 dogs so, I end up taking care of 6 total.

I have a pitbull/hound mix named Quigley. He’s black with white toes. I call him twinkle toes and sometimes, big dumb dog. He sleeps with me and I adore him.

I have no dogs of my own but I play with my neighbor’s two dogs.
Right now we don’t have a dog but I’ve had several beagles in my past.
I’m a sucker for anything about dogs. I remember adopting my own pup three years ago. It was one of the best decisions of my life!
No dog right now.

Yes, I have a dog — she’s so sweet!
We had 2 family dogs when I was young. The first was a blue-tick hound named Sparky who liked to go hunting, but tended to follow old trails and get distracted. He had a soft mouth, so retrieving ducks he did fine. The next was a border collie named Barney. He knew 50 words and got really excited if you started saying anything with a “B,” as he thought you were going to talk about him because his name began with a “B,” and he played close attention just in case. He also herded everybody including the cat, because on a farm, this breed herds sheep and cows. They each lived a long life and wiggle their feet, as if on a chase, while napping. They also got excited when anyone left the house or entered.
Yes I have a Very Hyper Black Lab Dog named Briella
No dog. I have a cat.
