Temporama takes place in a city where, like any concrete jungle, technology favors the privileged and nature is quarantined like a virus. A silent picture story told during one night of primal urges and strange happenings, Temporama is a beautifully simple tale told in Clayton Junior's trademark bold graphic style.
Using a rhythmic, abstract, approach to the comic genre, Brazilian illustrator Clayton Junior finds magic where others wouldn't even bother to look. Part of the Nobrow 17x23 series.
MY THOUGHTS
What a strange little story with no words. The illustrations show a man connected to his life through technology and as he interacts with nature, things become strange, much like an acid trip. Not that I have ever had one, but I imagine this is what it would be like. I have several of Nobrow Press’ authors and artist and love them, but this one left me not understanding the author’s work. I followed the story somewhat but it left me confused as to the point. The artwork itself is really amazing if you enjoy abstract things.
