As everyone knows who follows my blog, you know I am all about the DOGS!  I review A DOG’S PURPOSE before it was released and this is a quick review (sorry SPOILERS!) but I think if you watch the trailer, you get the idea.  I have a real review HERE – This book is for anyone who loves dogs or was ever owned by a dog.

Starts reading book, OMG I LOVE THIS — It has a dog that speaks to me.

Wait, OH NO!  the dog dies, but then everything is ok and the dog is back.

Happy Dance.  WAIT – not again.  Husband hands me tissues…sympathetically “The dog died again?”

OMG – throws book across the room — ugly crying — very ugly crying but soon it becomes tears of joy. Starts hugging dogs.

Really this is one of the best DOG books ever.  Schatze approves.  After watching the trailer, I think it is going to be a perfect movie as well.

As you know, Schatze was my mom’s dog and when she passed away, I became her lucky human.  In our family, being keeper of the dachshund comes with a lot of baggage, like a lot of dachshund related things.  I also inherited three generations of dachshund memorabilia and my collection keeps growing every day.  She barks, we jump.

Bruce Cameron, A Dog’s Purpose, from director Lasse Hallström (The Cider House Rules, Dear John, The 100-Foot Journey), shares the soulful and surprising story of one devoted dog (voiced by Josh Gad) who finds the meaning of his own existence through the lives of the humans he teaches to laugh and love.  The family film told from the dog’s perspective also stars Dennis Quaid, Peggy Lipton, Britt Robertson, K.J. Apa, Juilet Rylance, Luke Kirby, John Ortiz and Pooch Hall.

I do not currently have a dog, but I’ve had a couple of golden retriever mixes and, while I’m more of a “cat person,” having those dogs was incredibly great.

I don’t have a dog at this time. I lost my dog not too long ago and I’m not able to have a dog right now. I miss her a lot, she was a beautiful black lab named Stitch. Luckily, my friend has a beautiful Irish Setter named Garbo, so I get my dog fix from her. She lives in the house behind mine and comes to visit all the time. Dogs bring so much to our lives and Stitch left lots of paw prints on my heart.
