I always think that Shalvis will write a book that doesn’t wow me. She still hasn’t done it. Even though there is a basic formula, couple meets, has some sort of distress, outside forces pushing them away from each other and finally to the HEA, they never fail to be awesome reads. It is definitely how she writes, the words she uses and how the characters are not all cookie-cutters. The dialogue is always full of spark and wit. I am picky about that how characters interact and speak to each other.
“Nothing,” she said. “It’s just that I’m trying to make better choices.”
“Of which I wouldn’t be one.”
“It’s not necessarily your fault,” she said. “It’s that you’re a man.”
“Guilty as charged.”
