Kevin Kwan, bestselling author of Crazy Rich Asians, is back with a wickedly funny new novel of social climbing, secret e-mails, art-world scandal, lovesick billionaires, and the outrageous story of what happens when Rachel Chu, engaged to marry Asia's most eligible bachelor, discovers her birthfather.
On the eve of her wedding to Nicholas Young, heir to one of the greatest fortunes in Asia, Rachel should be over the moon. She has a flawless Asscher-cut diamond from JAR, a wedding dress she loves more than anything found in the salons of Paris, and a fiancé willing to sacrifice his entire inheritance in order to marry her. But Rachel still mourns the fact that her birthfather, a man she never knew, won't be able to walk her down the aisle. Until: a shocking revelation draws Rachel into a world of Shanghai splendor beyond anything she has ever imagined. Here we meet Carlton, a Ferrari-crashing bad boy known for Prince Harry-like antics; Colette, a celebrity girlfriend chased by fevered paparazzi; and the man Rachel has spent her entire life waiting to meet: her father. Meanwhile, Singapore's It Girl, Astrid Leong, is shocked to discover that there is a downside to having a newly minted tech billionaire husband. A romp through Asia's most exclusive clubs, auction houses, and estates, China Rich Girlfriend brings us into the elite circles of Mainland China, introducing a captivating cast of characters, and offering an inside glimpse at what it's like to be gloriously, crazily, China-rich.

MY THOUGHTS
In this exciting follow up to Crazy Rich Asians, Kevin Kwan bring to reality something the Kardashians could only dream about: insane wealth, jets on stand-by and entre into world class art collecting. You don’t need to read Crazy Rich Asians, since Kwan does a wonderful job bringing you up to speed quickly. Quite a few of the same characters appear in this one. American Rachel and her fiance, Nick, are set to marry and have overcome the obstacles of his crazy, rich Asian family in China. The story moves to Singapore where Rachel is still trying to track down her biological father.
Bringing together tight Asian communities and even worse social classism than any royal family, Rachel must tread through more drama than a soap opera. Some highlights are Kitty Pong a former soap star, now married to the heir of a fortune that can’t buy her way into society. Also, more plots than you can shake a stick at keep you turning the pages to find out what comes next. I think there must be a book three since this one left me with some unanswered questions about Rachel and Nick and if his family would ever accept her and put him back in the will.

Of course! Guys write Chick Flicks so why not a book? There was a guy in my creative writing class and he wrote one story through a female pov; it was really good and you couldn’t tell if it was written by a dude or a chick. So no sex has no factor here. 🙂
You know, I think they can, although at this early hour, I am unable to actually think of one off the top of my head! I still need to read Asians…have heard good things about both these books. Thanks for the chance to win!
Guys can definitely write chick lit. I have no problem with reading a book authored by a guy. I think we women can be so transparent it would be easy for a guy to create a scenario just from observing.
Of course they can.
Wow another great read.
Yes, they are creative.
I don’t see why they couldn’t write chick lit.
I absolutely think guys can write chick lit. I read Kevin’s first book and I am dying to read this one.
Sure. Why not?
Sure. Why not?
Yep!!!! In fact, it makes it all the more intriguing knowing a guy wrote it!!!
