PLEASE WELCOME AMANDA TO BOOKHOUNDS!
- What is the first book you remember reading by yourself as a child?
Hmmm, interesting question. I believe it was Hop on Pop by Dr. Seuss. I remember trying to hop on my on dad’s tummy like it shows on the book cover. Somehow my dad was less than thrilled with this activity.
- What are you reading right now?
I just finished Sonata for a Scoundrel by Anthea Lawson (very good!) and now I’m tackling, Spark; the Revolutionary New Science of Exercise and the Brain by John Ratey. It was a book my dad gave me to read and since I so abused him as I child, I figure I owe it to him to read a book he recommends.
- How does your garden grow?
Are we talking about actual gardens here, are is this some kind of hip slang term I’m not privy to? Assuming you mean actual gardens, this year the northwest has benefitted from unusually hot, sunny weather, giving us a bumper tomato crop!.
- What is the last thing you Googled?
Last thing I googled was Bookhounds to check out your new website. Very nice! Before that, I googled what to do with left over egg whites. I made a recipe that called for eight egg yolks, leaving me with a bowl full of egg whites. I ended up making a quadruple batch of chocolate meringue cookies. Yum!
5. What makes you cringe?
Nails on a chalkboard, cell phones at the dinner table, and pantyhose. Shudder.

I think that spring is the best season for a wedding, not to cold and not to hot. I got married in July and it was really hot. Thanks for having the giveaway.
I think June in the summer is the best for weather. But I like the fall for myself.
I think any season is the best time for a wedding! I love the colors of both fall and winter seasons but I am a summer bride so of course I am biased toward summer, but spring is lovely with all of the pretty colors and new growth all around.
