In this excellent follow up to Beg for Mercy (adored that!) features Jack and Talia. Jack had rescued Talia from near death from a crazy guy and he has now developed feelings for her. Talia on the other hand, wants to put that part of her life behind her and would prefer not to have Jack around as a reminder. This is a fast paced romance full of suspense that include some unique twists that had me guessing until the end. I really love to figure out a plot before the end and I couldn’t pick it apart. You can’t ask for a better romantic lead than Jack, he has a gruff exterior but his heart is in the right place. I ended up with the ending I wanted, lots of delicious romance that included a nicely done mystery.
